Barnet Council – Hillgreen Homes Brief To create a new identity for property developed by Barnet Council. The brand must show its affiliation with Barnet Council, but equally be a desirable and stand-alone brand in its own right. Positioned as mid to high end, it must appeal to a variety of audiences from first time buyers to downsizers. Client: Hillgreen Homes - Barnet Council Services: Branding Sectors: Constructions Approach Our first task was to create a new name. “Hillgreen Homes” was developed in response to the environment and heritage of the Barnet landscape. Playing on the ‘hill’ that the town of Barnet expanded around, and the green referencing Barnet’s commitment to its lush, open spaces. The logo is based on a line vector reinterpretation of the Barnet council’s crest; 2 lions go side by side a rose on top of a hill. The fine line drawing creates a modern and elegant link to the heritage of the original crest. The colour palette of green, yellow and greys brings the designs to life, and the typeface Museo Sans was chosen for its clean, geometric design style that works well in both text and display sizes. Looking at all the assets combined, we created a set of brand guidelines. The toolkit includes infographic styles, photography, icons, print finishes and digital guidelines, and provides a ‘big picture’ overview for how the assets should look across various media and platforms.
